As part of the Winchburgh Development our Winchburgh Branch is now fully up and running and we look forward to welcoming parents to our branch in the centre of the new town.
The Great Outdoors
We have got a large area at the back of the nursery for the children to have fun in the outdoors. The garden area will be similar to that of our existing nursery providing children rich experiences outdoors in a natural environment. Our ethos is to allow children to spend outdoors as much as they would like to and the outside space will be designed as such for all ages in our care to enjoy. The outside space will be developed as we grow to allow input from our new families and children.
There is a new Country Park being developed at Winchburgh which will also provide a fantastic resource for the children to explore the natural outdoors.
Many studies have already shown the benefits of spending time outdoors. We have utilised our vast outdoor space to provide just that! In the early and later years of childhood, spending time outdoors supports the development of healthy and active lifestyles through physical activity, movement and freedom.
Playing and learning outside will give children contact with the natural world and offer them experiences that are unique to the outdoors. These include learning about the environment, understanding and respecting nature and being exposed to different types of seasons. Our aim at Tiptoes is to provide the most natural environment with abundant time spent outdoors for your children to play, grow and most importantly have fun!
A natural environment with abundant time spent outdoors.
The Cosy Indoors
The purpose built nursery will be open plan with 3 rooms. The rooms will cater for babies, toddlers and Pre-school children. Each room will have access to the outdoor garden and lare windows to allow lots of natural light. We have also got windows designed at children’s heights so they are able to look out into our garden. We will equip all the rooms with natural materials.
Of course when the elements are not favourable or the ‘wee’ like a cosy rest then the indoors await with a purpose built, state-of-the-art, interactive and fully equipped indoors at Tiptoes. We have chosen natural materials through out to make sure hearts and minds are both thought provoking and stimulating with calm areas where children can enjoy some ‘me’ time!
Rest assured every day in Tiptoes is guaranteed to be fun!
Meet the Tiptoes Winchburgh team!

Sheetal and Anoop Shah – Founders of the Tiptoes Brand
I am an Actuary by profession and studied mathematics at university. I worked as a pensions consultant for almost a decade before deciding to change my career aspirations into childcare. The main driver for my decision to leave the corporate world was when I gave birth to our oldest daughter Simran. Simran’s sister Akira was born in 2015 and alongside Simran, spent all of their childhood at Tiptoes!
I realised the varying quality of childcare provided across Scotland and
felt that many improvements can be made across so many aspects of the provision of child-care. My aim was to not just provide a safe place for children but instead to provide a child centred quality education where children develop and grow at their own pace.
Anoop has been in Scotland for over 20 years and came to Edinburgh
in 2000 to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He qualified from medical school in 2005 and is now working as a cardiologist and epidemiologist.
Both Anoop and I were born in East Africa and enjoy the outdoors. We have travelled extensively and have tackled trekking in the Himalayas, climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and up to the base camp at Mt Everest. We understand the benefits of spending time outdoors and we hope to spread this sense of adventure to all the wee ones at Tiptoes.
